Digesting Science is a set of activities for children aged 6-12, about multiple sclerosis (MS). Scientific information is communicated in a simple and playful way.
Digesting Science events aim to empower and equip young people with the knowledge to deal with issues around having a parent with MS. The activities can be used at home by one family or at a larger group event.
Digesting Science was set up in 2013 by the Barts MS research team at Queen Mary University of London. They identified the need to support parents when talking to their children about MS.
We developed the activities alongside Barts MS scientists and parents with MS, to ensure that every activity is both factually correct and fun to complete. We worked with Hyperkit to create the final visuals that run across the physical and digital activities.
"Thank you so much for helping my daughter understand what MS is on Saturday, and how and what happens with it. When my daughter came out she said, ‘Mummy I'm not going to worry anymore,’ so a big thank you from the bottom of my heart. Digesting Science is wonderful and you all need medals."
